Construction Rack and Pinion Controller:

 14 gauge galvanized steel    

The 270-301 provides access through a 2 5/8" cup concealed in the drywall ceiling. The rack and pinion controller is mounted atop the cup and the opening is concealed with a 3" cover plate, available in zinc plated, chrome finish, stainless steel finish, or primer coated.
Outer Casing: 3/16" galvanized steel
Inner Wire: Type 302 stainless steel wire .054" In accordance with Specs AMS 5688 J and ASTMA-313-96 free from mercury contamination

Mounting Cup: 301 zinc mounting cup mounted to ceiling stud.
Ceiling Cover Plate: Zinc Plated Steel Cover Plate 3" Diameter with 3/4" Stainless Steel screws to hold the cover in place.
Ratings Rack and Pinion Controller: Delivers up to 35 inch pounds of push pull torque.
Inner Wire: Tensile strength of 265,000 pounds.

The 270-896 provides access through a 1" screw cap concealed in the drywall ceiling. The rack and pinion controller is mounted atop a convenient "C" bracket that fastens to a ceiling support stud above the ceiling. The bracket also receives the threaded cap. An optional tamper proof pan head screw is available for secure environments.

The 270-275 can mount inside the plenum of a slot diffuser, with access to the controller through the opening in the bottom of the slot. Another mount option includes an adjacent area above a lay in ceiling or anywhere aesthetics are not a concern (mechanical room, closet, etc.)
